Hyderabad’s Pharma City is a much-awaited project initiated by the BRS government which was the world’s largest pharmaceutical industrial park. It is extended over 19000 acres of land near Hyderabad. The vision was not only to boost the pharmaceutical industry across India but also to transform it into a global hub for life sciences.

Planning & Implementations

Hyderabad Pharma City (HPC) project aimed to generate more than 5,00,000 job opportunities, and can attract investment worth USD 9 billion. It will provide life science companies to help move up the value chain. The focus was on eco-friendly urbanization, ensuring sustainable development with global standards.

Facilities

The infrastructure facilities proposed to be developed in the pharma city were ample. It included R&D facilities, testing facilities, incubation centers, and formulation units. According to the reports Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) planned to make zero liquid discharge (ZLD) based on the common effluent treatment plant (CETP), to ensure that the industrial activities in pharma city would not lead to environmental damage, maintaining the pollution free environmental standards with global acknowledgement.

He said that Hyderabad should be ready to accommodate an initial 2 crore population.
