Fire Service Rules
National Building Code(NBC):
NBC guidelines were first published in 1970 and revised in 1983 and subsequently in 2005. In addition to ensuring public health and safety, NBC is the comprehensive building code that safeguards the overall health and safety of the construction. It is mandatory to adhere to the NBC rules for hotels, highrise buildings, educational spaces, residential buildings, commercial, storage spaces, and even hazardous buildings.
No Objection Certificate(NOC):
The Telangana Fire Department Service has some rules to follow to get a fire safety NOC for all buildings of the specified height or type (residential, commercial, shopping malls).
The process to apply for NOC is
- Submit the online application form through the GHMC online portal (http://eghmc.ghmc.gov.in/).
- After payment submit the application and the application will be seen on the dashboard of the department district fire officer.
- Up to 15 meters: Requires a minimum road width of 9 meters.
- Above 15 to 30 meters: Requires a minimum road width of 12 meters.
- Above 30 meters: Requires a minimum road width of 18 meters.
- Satir cases must be 1.5 meters wide for highrise buildings.
- The occupants of buildings should be able to exit quickly and safely in case of an emergency.
